WELCOME TO TriBeCa LIVERPOOL

Our bar & pizzeria is housed in an enormous double fronted retro warehouse on Berry Street at the edge of Chinatown.

The cool interior has a lower and upper floor with a minstrels gallery accessed by two sets of stairs left & right. The lower floor houses the open Pizza kitchen where you can watch the chefs in action and there is a large bar to the right & to the left, a dining area.

Going upstairs there is another lounge & dining area, both these areas feature quirky modern antique furniture from the 60's & 70's. There is green and brown decor with wooden tables & comfy leather chairs or leather booth seating, in one area it has been set up to look live a living room from the late 60’s complete with an electric bar fire, standard lamp & period art on the walls.

Drinks wise we have all the beers, wines and spirits you would expect in a premium style bar. The pizzas are made with Italian dough & are thin based 12" & stone baked. They are all priced at a great value £5 & there is a choice of 20 different types including the Tribeca Classico - the chef's own creation made with a lot of love.

From May we have had live bands playing every Thursday and guest DJs playing on Fridays & Saturdays. The venue can accommodate up to 350 people, more if you wanna get real cosy.

ENTYMOLOGY

A TOUCH OF HISTORY

In the early 1970s, a couple of years after artists in SoHo were able to legalise their live/work situation, artist & resident organisations in the area to the south, known then as Washington Market or simply the Lower West Side, sought to gain similar zoning status for their neighborhood. A group of Lispenard Street artist/residents living on the block directly south of Canal Street between Church Street & Broadway, in an area now part of the landmarked TriBeCa Historic District, joined the effort. Just as the members of the SoHo Artists Association coined ‘SoHo’ after looking at a City Planning map which marked the area as ‘South of Houston’ & shortened that to SoHo, these Lispenard Street residents likewise employed a City Planning map to describe their block.

Lispenard Street, the block immediately below Canal, is wide on the Church Street side but narrows towards the Broadway end. It appears as a triangle on City maps. The Lispenard residents decided to name their group the Triangle Below Canal Block Association, & as activists had done in SoHo, shortened the group’s name to the TriBeCa Block Association.
